Employment Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must hold either a current CPR or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Sunstar Paramedics regularly offers these certification courses. View the training schedule here.
Out of State Residents
All emergency personnel applicants must be certified in the state of Florida. According to the Florida Department of Health, an EMT or Paramedic who was trained out-of-state or on a military installation is eligible to take the Florida certification examination provided the training was in accordance with the U.S. DOT National Standard Curriculum and the certification remains in good standing.
